Things Change…

I left home a few months ago because i left to pursue a dream. A dream i once thought was unattainable.

I left and when i came back, everything felt so different. Everything changed. My friends look older. My mom has aged. My brother is taller,his hands are bigger. The conversations i had all pretty much centered around the job i have (so much for a break from work). 

Soooo, random question… Have you ever met someone you admire? Someone whose life you “know” soooo well even they’d be taken aback by howmuch you know about them…yeah, but imagine this person is your best friend. You’ve probably spent hours together, laughing, taking pics, talking, connecting…hell sharing dreams and thoughts…ideas, wishes, everything. Then one day,it all changes.

Your best friend isnt your best friend anymore. Your best friend is sick, or so they say. Your best friend doesnt smile like he used to. Speak like he used to. Tease, hug or push you around like he used too. No explanation, nothing… He’ s just not the person you left behind. 

I never thought id “lose” someone to a unknown explanation. Never thought id lose a best friend to a “…” but i did. 

Today taught me that life isnt a game we play just for the sake of it… Infact life feels like a game we all play to lose. Yes it may seem like a negative outlook…but the fact of the matter is… You die but on your road to “death” or “success” did you atleast stop and smell the roses? Did you understand that this really isnt forever? 

Forever is a myth. 

I didnt lose my best friend to death, i lost him to life… Crazy isnt it?
